Ohhhhhh the rest of the song! I taught them the rest of the song, but for the next time I teach it I must remember to never teach it on a Monday. I don’t know if it was because it was a Monday or because it’s Thanksgiving week, but there wasn’t as much enthusiasm as there normally is. The rest of the song goes like this……”Multiply or divide it’s an easy thought. Same signs are positive, different signs are not.”
We went over the different ways that you can show multiplication as well as division. The worksheet I gave them had a puzzle on it. The puzzle on the division side was rather confusing. In the co-taught class, I just told them to ignore the puzzle unless they wanted to try to solve it. The worksheets were out of my “The Basic/Not Boring Middle Grades Math Book” the worksheets were called “It Helps to Speak Latin” and “Mystery Name”.
I saved the games for tomorrow since it is the day before the holiday. We will be playing a game that splits the class into two teams and works with all of the operations and a game that will be for small groups and they will multiply integers.
