The fourth and final entry in the solving algebraic equations series is modeling division algebraic equations.
I didn’t use hands-on models for the division algebraic equation problems, but we did draw our models. We drew the models by drawing one cup and cutting it into the number of pieces of the denominator. We then drew the number of counters it says in each of the pieces. For instance….for x/2 = 6, we drew one cup cut in half. There are six counters in each half. We want to know how many counters are in the whole cup.
