As you have seen, I am a huge OKC Thunder fan. If you’ve seen previous posts, you know that last year I made a couple of coordinate graphing pictures of NBA logos. I made one for my beloved OKC Thunder and the other for my friend who cheers for our rival, the San Antonio Spurs.
If you’re in the NBA scene, you know that the playoffs are going on as we speak. The OKC Thunder, without our outstanding Russell Westbrook, finally made it past the Houston Rockets and are now going in to game 2 with the Memphis Grizzlies. In honor of our last minute, first game win against the Grizzlies, I made up a coordinate graphing picture of the Grizzly logo.
I didn’t color this, but obviously I would have my students color it if we were Grizzlies fans.
My students LOVE these coordinate graphing pictures. What’s even better, is that some of my best coordinate graphing picture workers are my students with learning disabilities. It is one of those “teaching moments” when you watch students who struggle in so many other things, become completely mesmerized in the completion of these graphs.
My students were finishing up their OKC Thunder picture today. We are going to hang them in the halls to show our Thunder pride. Next up, I will be giving them the Hunger Games, Mockingjay pin graph. I’m not going to tell them what they are graphing so that I can see the surprises on their faces!
