Classroom Shelf Elf Day 2: The Name

When I first started teaching, I had a desk fish. It was one of those beautiful betta fish. Being a math teacher, I decided to call him Fibonacci. I love the name and felt it fitting for the fishes beauty. In keeping with the tradition of that name, I decided to name our classroom elf Fibonacci. Patterns and sequences is one of our Oklahoma PASS skills, so I easily tie it in with what I’m suppose to teach. It’s a little different from what we’re working on, but I am ahead of schedule on my school calendar.

I am going to show a YouTube clip I found on the Fibonacci sequence in nature. Here is a link to their YouTube channel.

Here is the freebie worksheet that goes along with your shelf elf’s day 2. I hope your students enjoy!!
